GOOD MORNING UNITED FANS
Manchester United will reportedly demand £20million for midfielder Andreas Pereira, who spent last season on loan at Serie A club Lazio.
Defender Axel Tuanzebe could also leave Old Trafford this summer, with Aston Villa thought to be close to completing a loan deal.
And the Red Devils will NOT make a move for free agent Jerome Boateng, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
United are believed to still be interested in Kieran Trippier, although the player’s current employers Atletico Madrid are reportedly holding out for £34m.
But midfielder Saul Niguez is available for transfer with Atletico reportedly giving his representatives the green light to pursue a move.
Technical director Darren Fletcher and director of football John Murtough have been credited with persuading Raphael Varane to move to Manchester.
The defender’s transfer is expected to be finalised shortly, with club legend Paddy Crerand calling Varane a ‘class act’.
Crerand, who played for United between 1963 and 1971, added: “I don’t think there are many top central defenders anywhere. He reminds of Rio Ferdinand actually – that’s how good he is.
“He’s excellent with the ball at his feet and he makes everything look easy, exactly the same as Rio.”
