Oak Lawn High School on lockdown after 'possible safety issue'

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) — Oak Lawn Community High School is on lockdown after a “possible safety issue” was reported at the school, police said.

The school said no injuries have been reported to students or staff and that police officers are onn the scene.

Please do not come to campus, as no one will be allowed to enter or leave campus at this time.
Oakl Lawn police have advised people to stay away from the school at 9400 SW Hwy.

We are currently investigating a possible safety issue at Oak Lawn Community High School. We have officers on scene and the school has lock downed. Please avoid the area of the school.

An Oak Lawn police official said the lockdown is, “a safety measure put in place as we investigate an earlier call. There is no active threat at the school.”
