Kristen Welker’s baby girl has arrived.

NBC News’ chief White House correspondent and husband John Hughes welcomed a daughter named Margot Lane Welker Hughes via surrogate on Saturday.

“Margot truly is the love of our lives,” Welker, 44, wrote in an email to the “Today” show that was shared Monday. “Seeing her precious face and looking into her eyes has made every minute of our journey.”

Welker added that she and Hughes, a marketing executive, stayed in a hospital room next to their surrogate’s.

Baby Margot arrived on Saturday, June 12, and weighed in at 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

“We stayed in rooms next to each other and visited throughout so that we and little Margot could thank her for bringing Margot into the world,” Welker explained.

Baby Margot, who weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces, was named after Welker’s grandmother, Margaret. Lane is a family moniker on Hughes’ side.
